TELETHERAPY

What is Teletherapy?

I offer teletherapy as an integral part of my practice and for the safety and convenience of my clients. Teletherapy is therapy delivered through a safe, virtual platform via a computer. It is a valid alternative to face-to-face therapy and beneficial for individuals, couples and teen counseling. This virtual platform  allows me to expand my accessibility to vulnerable populations that otherwise would not seek treatment. Teletherapy is conducted on a HIPPA compliant platform so my client’s privacy is protected at all times.

Are You Ready For Teletherapy?

  • Do you have a laptop, desktop PC or Mac?

  • Is your space equipped with a stable and reliable  internet connection? (Connecting directly to your router using an Ethernet cable is recommended, however wireless networks can work fine as well.)

  • Have you downloaded Chrome or Firefox to your computer to use as your internet browser? (Standard browsers such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge or Safari on a Mac may encounter compatibility issues with the video software as those browsers are not as up to date with modern code.)

  • Do you have access to a working webcam? Most modern laptops have built in webcams which will work great for online counseling! If you have a desktop PC or Mac you may need to purchase and set up an external webcam.

  • Are you comfortable navigating computer software? The online portal is easy to navigate and does not require any training to use. However, those who find computers to be confusing or frustrating in general may not be a good fit for online counseling.

  • Do you have a safe, private and confidential space to participate in your session? It is important that your environment, like the therapist environment, is private with no other individuals or potential disruptions around. This is also necessary to adhere to confidentiality guidelines.
